Renault Captur launched in India at Rs 9.99 lakh

Renault launched its new Captur in India with an introductory starting price tag of Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Based on the existing model Duster (M0 platform), it is a more premium offering and will be positioned as the company’s new flagship model.

Claiming some first-in-class features, the new SUV will be eyeing the segment’s bestseller Hyundai Creta.

Leaving the conventional boxy design, the new SUV gets a unique styling that makes it quite different from its sibling Duster as well as the other offerings in the segment.

The vehicle offers a boot space of 392-litre which is expandable up to 1352-litre with rear seat folding. The Captur features full-LED headlights, which have been christened ‘Pure Vision LED.’

It also gets a touchscreen infotainment system that comes with navigation and connectivity options like Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The SUV is available with both petrol (three variants) and diesel (four variants) engines with manual transmission while the automatic option is expected to be introduced sometime in future.

The model comes with various safety features like dual airbags, side airbags and antilock-braking system (ABS) with electronic brake distribution (EBD), among others.

The Renault Captur is available in five colour options — including orange, grey, silver, brown and white — along with seven dual tone combinations.

The diesel version of the SUV starts at Rs 11.40 lakh while the top-end Platine edition comes with a price tag of Rs 13.89 lakh (both ex-showroom).
