Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Wednesday said the killing of a BMS worker in Kannur was seemingly in retaliation of the murder of a CPI(M) worker in the district.
“As many as 10 BJP men hacked to death CPI(M) activist Dhanraj and in retaliation, local BJP worker Ramachandran was killed disrupting peace in the area. The situation in Kannur is now normal”, Vijayan said.
Two political murders within a span of few hours again shook north Kerala’s politically sensitive Kannur district.
The Chief Minister also denied the charge that transfer and postings of police officers violating norms have adversely affected police force morale and defended the transfer of former DGP T.P Senkumar from the post.
“The government changed him with an objective to make the force more effective”, Vijayan said.
