Lavalin case: HC reserves order on CBI revision plea

The Kerala High Court on Thursday reserved order on a revision petition filed by the CBI seeking to quash the Thiruvananthapuram CBI Special Court order discharging Pinarayi Vijayan and six others from the SNC-Lavalin case.

The judgment was reserved on completion of the arguments by the CBI and the counsel for the accused persons.

Harish Salve, senior advocate and Supreme Court counsel, appeared for the accused while Additional Solicitor General Natarajan represented the CBI.

On Wednesday, the CBI again contended in court that the exoneration of the accused, including Pinarayi Vijayan, of all charges without trial is a violation of norms.

According to Salve, there was no material evidence to prove Vijayan had made any pecuniary advantage as a result of the deal.
