The Kerala High Court on Monday granted interim bail to N.K Sakthivel, vice principal of Nehru College of Engineering, and an accused in the Jishnu Prannoy case.
Sakthivel was arrested by a special investigation team (SIT) with the help of Tamil Nadu police in Coimbatore on Sunday.
The court also criticised the police for arresting the accused while his anticipatory bail plea is pending. It is not fair for the investigating officer to arrest the accused while the bail plea was to be disposed few days later, it said.
