Achari Paneer Recipe


Paneer- 500gms
Capsicum- 1 (thinly sliced)
Onion- 1 (diced)
Green chillies- 2
Garlic- 5-6 cloves
Ginger- 1 medium piece
Tomatoes- 2 (diced)
Amchoor (dry mango) powder- 1tsp
Cumin powder- 1tsp
Coriander powder- 1tsp
Turmeric powder- 1tsp
Garam masala powder- ½ tsp
Red chilli powder- ½ tsp
Kalonji (onion seeds)- 1tsp
Mustard seeds- ½ tsp
Bay leaf- 1
Salt- as per taste
Pickle masala- 1tbsp (any pickle of your choice)
Oil- 1tbsp
Coriander leaves- 2tbsp (chopped)


1.Grind the onions, tomatoes, green chillies, garlic and ginger together in a mixer into a thick paste. Keep it aside.

2.Heat oil in a pan and add kalonji, mustard seeds, bay leaf. Fry for a few seconds.

3.Add the sliced capsicum and fry for minute.Then add the onion paste and saute on medium heat for 5-6 minutes.

4.Now one by one add the turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, amchoor powder, garam masala powder and cook for 3-4 minutes.

5.Now add the pickle masala. Make sure you do not put the pieces of the pickle. Saute for 2-3 minutes.

6.Add the paneer and salt. Cook for 3-4 minutes.Then add a little water, cover and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.

7.When the paneer is completely cooked, remove the cover, switch off the flame and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.Spicy Achari paneer is ready to be served.
