The crisis in Malayalam film industry has hit new heights with the Kerala Film Exhibitors Federation deciding to shutdown all A-Class theatres indefinitely from Thursday.
The federation announced the decision on Tuesday after it’s attempts to reach a consensus with the Kerala Film Producers Association over profit sharing did not yield any result.
No Malayalam films have been released in Kerala since December 16 due to the ongoing tiff between the theatre owners and producers.
Meanwhile, the producers and distributors have announced that they would release new films from Thursday in B, C class theatres and multiplexes.
